its the old world yet new
left behind by the likes of man
that fled deep
into steel clad rock, safety
fragile and fortified
away from the shame
the unknown
basking in humanities adaptability
until that day
something changed
some sensor
perhaps a mistake
dead circuits
man’s curiosity
seals were broken
air pressure normalized
and the destroyer’s eyes
once again gazed upon
what was called sky
what was called earth
what was called life
